What herbal practitioners say about Meadowsweet

Meadowsweet tincture is one of the most useful digestive remedies.  It reduces excess acidity, eases nausea and protects and soothes the mucous membranes of the digestive tract making it useful in the treatment of gastric and peptic ulcers.  Its astringent qualities are useful in treating childhood diarrhoea.  The presence of aspirin-like chemicals explains Meadowsweet’s fever reducing and pain relieving properties.  Meadowsweet combines well with marshmallow and licorice (avoid in high blood pressure) in the the treatment of gastric ulcers and hyperacidity.

      Tincture dose

      Adult dose:                 1 - 2mls three times a day.

      Children’s dose:        0.5 – 0.8mls three times a day.
